Applying mulch around your plants offers multiple benefits: it conserves soil moisture, suppresses weed growth, and helps regulate soil temperature. Organic mulches, such as shredded leaves, grass clippings, straw, or bark, gradually decompose and enrich the soil. Inorganic mulches like gravel or landscape fabric won’t improve soil fertility but can be long-lasting and highly effective for weed control.
